WELCOME TO SAN FRANCISCO
DEATH GUILD
Resting in the depths of the South of Market area of San Francisco in a spot called Trocadero is Death Guild. DG has fortunately lasted much longer than many other clubs, which is a rarity for a club here in SF.
It has probably lasted due to its many regulars of the underground scene. This is a place where you can get the latest in cybergossip or what's going on in the gothic scene. This is a good thing if you don't like to dance. It's an excellent hangout at the beginning of the week, the atmosphere is very relaxed.
Although drinks are somewhat expensive (as with most clubs in the city), there are drink specials before midnight and for you 'kiddies' it is 18 and up. The music is the usual gothic/industrial mix - not much new stuff (well how else are you supposed to keep the dancefloor happening?). The dance floor is huge because the club is huge so it makes it really easy to mosh or float ghost-like to your favorite song. About once or twice a month they will have a live band which makes it great for diversity.
They don't go all out to decorate the club to look 'gothically graveyardesque' or 'urban/industrial apocalyptic' because it is simply a club for the people by the people. All in all, a worthwhile club and I suggest you check it out.
